While living in the mountains now, I’ve been observing the feeling of time as it slows down and also moves in fast speed simultaneously.
It feels that here is more time to concentrate on any action. Whether on building, preparing food, watering garden, watching the Milky Way at night, sleeping and waking up fully rested before the Sunrise. But funnily, days keep on passing by incredibly fast.
While doing a town run, the hours disappear. It is the only time we look at a clock with hours, minutes, seconds. While being up on the hill, we follow the Sun and keep track on the day and nighttime.
But also there is a feeling of no time.
Before coming back to the mountains, we were discussing with my friend Marko and my mother, how to translate “serenity” into Estonian. Being here now the word keeps on describing itself to the only language it can fully be translated to – into body language.
This feeling is a passageway to bending time and an access to no time.
Nature, the day and night is also an agreement. In which we are part of.
For me drawing and building with cob and lava rock are ways to see the agreement in action and to experience serenity. Go through the illusion of time and matter. Where me, mine, my lose their meaning.

Illustrating this story with drawings of a cob building we have been creating with Layna Joy. Firstly, few years ago we made a sauna, which got too hot durning the wild fires last year, but still survived after the burn to be transformed into outdoor kitchen.
